2020 Louis Michel, Chablis Premier Cru, Montée de Tonnerre:
This Chardonnay offers a perfect balance between mineral freshness and very ripe fruit, with a mineral aroma overlaid with nectar and crisp lemon. On the palate it’s warm, mouthwatering and saline, with a spicy cinnamon finish. Must be opened before tasting, to get the maximum flavour, don’t drink it straight from the fridge.
Try with pesto, bruschetta, Mediterranean salads, shellfish, pan-fried scallops, or mild goat’s cheese. Serving suggestion: Open 1-2 hours before drinking.
2020 Domaine Marc Morey, Chassagne-Montrachet:
This white Burgundy is a golden yellow colour, and on the nose its floral aromas stand out, along with notes of honey. On the palate, it’s soft and long with white peach and just sliced citrus flavours. Must be opened before tasting to get the maximum flavour, don’t drink it straight from the fridge!
88 points from Burghound.
Try with pan-fried fish or shellfish, poultry or dishes cooked with creamy sauces. Serving suggestion: Remove from fridge and open 1 hour before drinking.
2021 Domaine Michelot, Meursault, Clos Saint Felix Monopole:
This white Burgundy has a wonderful Chardonnay bouquet of aromatic grapefruit and tropical fruit aromas, with an underlying touch of honey. It has a rich texture with a balancing, fresh acidity, and a savoury flavour at the very end.
As it has good acidity, this wine will go well with rich, buttery dishes – try with pan-fried fish or shellfish in a lemon butter sauce. Serving suggestion: Remove from fridge and open 1 hour before drinking.
