Producer Profile
This domain was founded by Gilbert Picq
and his wife, Nicole, in the 1950s. Today, the domain is managed by their sons,
Didier and Pascal, who continue the family’s winemaking legacy. The domain owns
and cultivates 13 hectares of vines across prestigious vineyards in Chablis
such as Vosgros, Vaucoupain and les Clos.
Domaine Gilbert Picq is dedicated to
sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. It produces a range of
premier cru cuvées which highlight the unique terroir of each vineyard site.
They don’t use oak barrels: all the fermentation and ageing takes place in
stainless steel vats.
This is a relatively small-scale producer,
and as a result, its wines are produced in limited quantities. This limited
production, coupled with their reputation for quality, often leads to high
demand and the wines being sought after by collectors and Chablis enthusiasts.
