Cooler and more restrained aromas include those of spicy dark berries and an array of elegant floral nuances. The rich but racy medium-bodied flavors possess excellent volume as well as evident minerality on the slightly more complex and persistent finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth.
Cask sample. Looks relatively evolved. Gentle, very fruity palate entry without exaggerated tannin or acidity. I could drink this tonight with pleasure, while remarking on its extra ripeness. Slightly drying finish but quite fun. Even if very different from most vintages.

The 2020 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru has a pure, perfumed bouquet with scents of raspberry and peony, the 100% whole bunch barely perceptable. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, a fine bead of acidity, cohesive with fine backbone and a slightly peppery, clove-tinged finish. Wonderful.
