Tasting Notes

The 2020 Branas Grand Poujeaux is sumptuous, racy and impeccably balanced. Blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice espresso and dark spice build in the glass. This flamboyant Moulis en Médoc has a lot to offer as it shows off its considerable charms. Terrific.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2032

The 2020 Branas Grand Poujeaux is very composed on the nose with some lovely brambly red fruit, briar, touches of undergrowth and cedar. The oak is very well integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit, iodine and white pepper. There is an approachability to this Moulis-en-Médoc that makes it very appealing, though it has the substance to age. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2040
