The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru has also turned out well, offering up scents of ripe cherries, berries, smoked meats and rich soil tones. Full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, it’s layered and nicely concentrated. If my speculations about the provenance of this négociant cuvée are correct, Fourrier deserves all the more praise for rendering what is probably the best wine produced from these holdings in this vintage.
