Ripe and muscular, the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets bursts with aromas of cherries, berries, loamy soil, licorice and incense. Medium to full-bodied, it’s ripe and chewy, with rustic tannin that needs some time to round out. Lignier lost some 20% of his crop here to hail.
Reduction presently overshadows the underlying fruit though there is good freshness to the ripe and rich middle weight flavors that possess more volume though the slightly chewy, rustic and chewy finish is shaped by slightly spiky tannins.
