Burghound 91

There is a bit of post-bottling reduction so if you’re tempted to try a bottle in its youth, I would advise decanting it first. Otherwise there is both good energy and freshness to the detailed, mineral-infused and more refined flavors that exhibit fine length on the youthfully austere finale. This possesses fine aging potential and is a wine that will need at least some patience. [10/04/2020]

Aromas of red berries, peonies, raspberries and orange rind introduce the 2018 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavieres, a medium to full-bodied wine that’s floral and perfumed, with an ample core of fruit, lively acids and a precise finish. Finer-boned and more energetic than the Fourneaux that preceded it, this is very promising. [William Kelley, 01/02/2020]
