Tasting Notes
Burghound 91
There is a bit of post-bottling reduction so if you’re tempted to try a bottle in its youth, I would advise decanting it first. Otherwise there is both good energy and freshness to the detailed, mineral-infused and more refined flavors that exhibit fine length on the youthfully austere finale. This possesses fine aging potential and is a wine that will need at least some patience.

Aromas of red berries, peonies, raspberries and orange rind introduce the 2018 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavieres, a medium to full-bodied wine that’s floral and perfumed, with an ample core of fruit, lively acids and a precise finish. Finer-boned and more energetic than the Fourneaux that preceded it, this is very promising.

Light crimson. Not much on the nose, lightly stemmy red fruit. Light all round but all in balance. (JH)
