Domaine Tortochot’s history dates
back to the early 20th century. It was founded by Paul Tortochot, and today it’s
managed by his great-granddaughter, Chantal Tortochot. The estate owns and
manages 11 hectares of vineyards primarily in the Gevrey-Chambertin
appellation, including premier cru and village-level sites. This is a renowned
domain in the Côte De Nuits.
Sustainable viticulture is
practised, with an emphasis on minimizing chemical interventions and respecting
the environment. The estate employs techniques such as cover cropping, organic
fertilisers, and meticulous vineyard management to ensure the health of the
vines. Domaine Tortochot specializes in the production of red wines made from
Pinot Noir, offering a range of wines from different vineyard sites within
Gevrey-Chambertin, including village-level wines and premier cru bottlings.
