Tasting Notes
Vinous 93/100
The 2017 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru is a little richer than the Les Epenots with more forward raspberry, wild strawberry and a light brine-like influence that gains traction with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, impressive depth of fruit but the terroir shines through. The finish is beautifully defined with a touch of spice and pain d’épices on the finish. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Charlot told me that this is his favourite cru in 2017…I can see exactly why.
