A discreet but not invisible application of wood sets off the equally pretty if earthier red berry fruit-suffused nose. There is a bit more volume to the well-detailed and vibrant middle weight flavors that are moderately firm though the finish exhibits just a hint of dryness that is enough to detract, if only mildly, from the balance.
Succulent red fruit with firm, boxy tannins and a touch of sweet spice to finish. Dry, fibrous and traditional, without the luscious fruit of their Bourgogne. (RH)
