Producer Profile
Domaine Bizot is a very well-known but small artisanal winery located in Vosne-Romanée, in Burgundy. This domain is owned by Jean-Yves Bizot, the third-generation owner in his family. He released his first vintage in 1998.
Jean-Yves Bizot maintains a hands-on approach to the winemaking process: the wines are made using traditional Burgundian methods of ageing in French oak barrels. Domaine Bizot practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, so they prioritise sustainable farming methods, avoiding the use
of synthetic chemicals and focusing on the health of the vineyards and ecosystem.
Bizot owns just 3.5 hectares of vines in Vosne-Romanée, so the production at Domaine Bizot is very limited: the domain produces fewer than 1000 cases annually. Prices for their wine typically range from several hundred to several thousand pounds per bottle. Although Domaine Bizot is renowned for its red wines, its white wines are also sought after.
