Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 86-88
“The 2016 Corton Les Marechaudes Grand Cru has a pretty nose of smudged cranberry and strawberry fruit, not the most delineated you will find in this vintage but there is decent vigor here. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, quite masculine and very linear. I would have liked more flesh to come through toward the finish. It feels a little short and the 80% whole bunch just juts out toward the finish. I will remain cautious with my assessment and cross my fingers that it develops more substance to balance the stem addition.”

Vinous 90-93
(50% vendange entier; from vines planted in 1975): Healthy dark red. Very ripe, tangy, alluring aromas of black raspberry, licorice, spices and black pepper lifted by a delicate floral element. Wonderfully fine-grained, savory and vibrant, with intense berry fruit energized by saline minerality. An elegantly styled Corton grand cru with terrific definition but no shortage of richness. Finishes vibrant and long, with harmonious, smooth tannins.
