Tasting Notes
Vinous 94
Game, smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense run through the 2014 Feytit Clinet, which exudes depth and intensity. Chocolate, gravel and a host of dark-toned fruits nearly bury the tannins. The 2014 saw five days of cold soaking followed by 26 days on the skins. Malolactic fermentation was done in barrel. The blend is 94 % Merlot and 6 % Cabernet Franc. Proprietor Jérémy Chasseuil and his team have done a terrific job with the 2014.
Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034
Robert Parker 92
The 2014 Feytit Clinet has a crisp bouquet with violet-tinged black fruit, understated and very precise (a leitmotif of Jeremy Chasseuil’s wine). The palate is clean and precise, very well defined with a mineral-infused finish that lingers long in the mouth. There is nothing ostentatious about this wine, rather it is all about the composure, refinement and precision. It can be summed up in two words: Bon vin!
Anticipated maturity: 2019-2035
