Domaine d’Auvenay has a direct link with Domaine Leroy: Lalou Bize-Leroy. After leaving the Management of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Lalou Bize-Leroy focused on her own vineyards: Domaine Leroy and Domaine D’Auvenay, which is located in Saint-Romain.
Domaine d’Auvenay counts 4 hectares of vineyard within many different appellations including the most prestigious ones, such as Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru, Criots Batard Montrachet Grand Crus, and Batard Montrachet Grand Cru. The vineyards of Domaine D’Auvenay are 100% organic and produce mainly Chardonnay, with a little Pinot Noir. Fermentation occurs using natural yeasts, and the wines are aged in French oak barrels for an extended period.
Each wine carries the distinct imprint of Lalou Bize-Leroy’s winemaking philosophy, showcasing the essence of Burgundy’s finest vineyards. The allocation of wines from Domaine d’Auvenay is highly controlled as the wines are produced in limited quantities (approximately 10,000 bottles per year), making them exceptionally rare and expensive.
