Tasting Notes
Vinous 89
Good healthy red-ruby. Plum, smoke, beefsteak tomato, black olive and earth on the nose. Spicy and expansive on the palate, with nicely concentrated dark fruit flavors complicated by meaty and herbal nuances. Finishes with firm, dusty tannins and good energy. (Unfortunately, Hartenberg’s 2007 The Eleanor Chardonnay, apparently the most recent vintage in the U.S. market, was past its best.)
