Tasting Notes

Medium red. Mineral-driven aromas of red berries, cherry, Asian spices and violet display impressive clarity and vivacity, and a delicacy that is really intriguing. Light on its feet, with deeply concentrated red berry and cherry flavors and a suave floral quality. Silky in texture like a suave Chambolle-Musigny, with excellent finishing spiciness and cut. Pure and stylish.

Tasted at St. John restaurant, this surpassed my initial expectations. A bottle shared over a private dinner, it is a little sullen at first by boy, does it blossom over a couple of hours! Utterly refined bouquet with damson, liquorices and a touch of game. The palate is medium-bodied and still beautifully poised, gaining in intensity all the time with similar notes to earlier this year with white pepper and a touch of bacon fat. Quite plush on the finish but retaining such a high degree of freshness and tension. Great potential. Drink now-2020. Tasted October 2009.
