The 2004 Dom Pérignon P2 is precise and wonderfully refined, just like the first release. There’s a hint of reduction from extended time on the cork as well as a feeling of effusiveness that is so appealing. Readers will find a super-classic DP. Dried flowers, brioche, apricot preserves, sage, mint and chamomile are seamless in the glass. The 2004 can be enjoyed now or cellared for another decade plus. Some editions of the P2 series have been pretty austere in the early going; the 2004 is not among them. [Antonio Galloni, 30/11/2022]

Moët & Chandon is the world’s best-selling champagne brand and is widely considered to produce the best champagne in the world. Founded in 1743, the Moët and Chandon champagne house has become the most famous champagne producer partly due to its prestigious cuvée, Dom Pérignon.
Dom Pérignon exclusively produces vintage champagnes, meaning that the grapes used in a release come from a single exceptional harvest year. This focus on vintage production allows for the expression of the unique characteristics of each year. These champagnes are crafted through meticulous blending of various grape varieties, mainly pinot noir and chardonnay. The combination of these grapes results in complex and harmonious champagnes. The house employs a strict regime of ageing on the lees in their cellars, allowing the wines to develop depth, complexity, and unique flavour profiles over time.
Dom Pérignon champagnes are known for their elegance, finesse, and ability to age gracefully. They often exhibit notes of ripe fruits, delicate florals, toasted brioche, and a vibrant minerality that contributes to their exceptional balance.
Both Moët & Chandon and Dom Pérignon have made significant contributions to the global popularity and recognition of champagne. They continue to be celebrated for their dedication to craftsmanship, quality, and their ability to create champagnes that symbolise luxury and celebration.
