Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 92
A wonderful nose of wild strawberry, cherry and orange zest, that become more minerally the more you nose it. Superb definition. Not a powerful palate, but very fresh and earthy, with brambly red fruits, morello cherry, cranberry and a touch of redcurrant towards the finish. Moderate complex, perhaps not a long-term proposition, but utterly delicious to drink, which is why it was made after all. 5,807 bottles produced. Tasted June 2004.
Vinous 88
Good medium red. Spicy cherry and redcurrant aromas. Juicy and precise, with good freshness and cut. Offers a lovely fruit/acid balance. With modest stuffing, this comes across as fairly tannic, but the finish is bright and persistent.
Burghound 88
Superb elegance here for a villages level Pommard, especially for one that is not even particularly well placed. Subdued aromas of earth and grilled nuts followed by very fresh, round, almost tender flavors with a sweet, very sappy finish and supported by ripe, well integrated tannins. Outstanding quality for its level.
