Tasting Notes
Vinous 85-86
(on its finings) Medium red. Raw currant, cedar, coconut and a lightly peppery herbaceousness on the nose. Juicy and moderately sweet, but offering only modest texture and concentration. In a softer style, and rather oaky today.
Robert Parker 88
Elegant notes of damp earth, underbrush, sweet cherries, and currants arise from the modest bouquet. While a distinctive soil character dominates the fruit, it offers good richness, medium body, and moderate tannin in an elegant, stylish format. It is good to see this well-known property produce an excellent wine. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013.

Very mature and quite treacly on the nose. Light and just slightly lean but good luncheon claret.
