Deep ruby-red. Liqueur-like aromas of blackberry, smoke, licorice, spice and earth, Thick, dense and sweet; a wine of uncanny volume and richness but extremely closed today and very hard to taste. Potentially great, but no fun right now. [Stephen Tanzer, 03/01/1998]
