Campbeltown whisky, from the historic whisky-producing town on Scotland’s Kintyre Peninsula, is known for its robust and distinctive character. Once a bustling whisky hub, Campbeltown now has a small number of distilleries, but they produce highly regarded whiskies with a unique profile. These whiskies are often full-bodied, with flavors of brine, sea salt, and smoke, alongside rich notes of toffee, dried fruits, and a hint of peat. The maritime influence is strong, giving them a slightly salty and oily texture. Glen Scotia, Springbank, and Glengyle are the key distilleries, each contributing to Campbeltown’s reputation for producing complex and flavorful single malts.
