Founded in 2012, a relatively young Burgundy estate, and described by Martin Neal as a 'domaine on the move', Herestyn-Mazzini is owned and run by Florence Heresztyn and Simon Mazzini. Home to a range favourably compared to a Rousseau, its wines are as collectable as they are eminently drinkable, the result of an extremely thoughtful approach to wine making, one that is both traditional and forward looking. Much admired by Allen Meadows, various vintages from 2014 serve as a wonderful introduction to the domaine's character, while those from 2015 are rightly hailed as masterpieces in the making. These are serious wines, ripe and digestible, bright and fragrant, easy yet complex. In short, some great and very clever stuff is going on here.
