In charge since 2008, Stephane Magnien represents the 4th generation of this small family domaine, and - as with so many of the new generation in Burgundy - he is pushing the property to unexpected heights. Critical acclaim is finally following in the footsteps of our own praise: twice recently the domaine has garnered extraordinary ratings from Neal Martin and the Wine Advocate’s William Kelley. Very subtle and limited use of oak, twinned with a strict moratorium on pesticides, has given the wines a character of great vitality and purity. 2015 especially showed real vivacity, poise and freshness, while 2016 and 2017 have done little to dispel the feeling that something very special is happening here in Morey-Saint-Denis.
