Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron. The name ‘Veuve Clicquot’ translates to ‘Widow Clicquot’, and pays homage to Madame Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, who took over the Champagne house after her husband’s death in 1805. Her innovative spirit and determination shaped the legacy of the House.
Veuve Clicquot owns and operates vineyards primarily in the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs regions of Champagne, whose vineyards provide a rich and diverse selection of grapes. Veuve Clicquot offers a range of prestigious cuvées with ‘La Grande Dame’ being their top-tier vintage Champagne, crafted only in exceptional years.
The brand’s visual identity has played a significant role in its reputation and has contributed to its status as a global Champagne powerhouse. Veuve Clicquot has a strong global presence and is widely available in markets around the world.
