Taittinger Champagne House traces its origins back to 1734, when Jacques Fourneaux established the initial wine business. However, it wasn’t until 1932 that Pierre Taittinger took ownership of the Champagne House and renamed it using his family’s name. Pierre-Charles Taittinger, the son of Pierre, played a principle role in the expansion of vineyard holdings and the modernization of production facilities, securing the growth and prosperity of the House.

Taittinger Champagne is recognised for its commitment to crafting exceptional Champagnes using traditional techniques. They have a particular emphasis on the use of Chardonnay grapes. They own and farm vineyards in the most prestigious areas such as the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, and Vallée de la Marne. Taittinger maintains ownership of significant estate vineyards, allowing them to have direct control over the entire winemaking process.

Taittinger produces several prestigious cuvées that have become highly sought-after. The champagne house has been associated with various cultural and celebratory events, further adding to its fame. You can easily find the first Brut Reserve bottles for around £35. For the most special cuvée, prices can reach a few hundred pounds.
