This domain is one of the iconic producers of Burgundy, located in Côte de Beaune. The history of Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet starts in the early 20th century, when it was founded by Pierre Ramonet. It has since been passed down through the Ramonet family and today, it’s managed by Jean-Claude Ramonet and his son, Noël.
Chardonnay is the primary grape variety cultivated across its 17 hectares, primarily in Chassagne-Montrachet, but also in neighbouring appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet. They cultivate the vines using organic and biodynamic principles, and all grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels and ageing occurs in French oak.
Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet’s wines are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. This domain shares the podium of the best white wine producers in Burgundy with Domaine Leflaive and Domaine d’Auvenay.
