The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small village located in the appellation Côte-Rotie. Domaine Guigal owns vineyards in some of the most esteemed appellations of the northern Rhône, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage.

Etienne Guigal’s son, Marcel Guigal, joined the family business in 1961 and played a pivotal role in expanding the estate’s vineyard holdings and improving the winemaking process. Today, Marcel’s son, Philippe Guigal, represents the third generation of the Guigal family and continues to lead the winery with his expertise and passion.

Guigal follows a traditional approach to winemaking, combining both modern techniques and respect for tradition. These wines are predominantly made from Syrah grapes, with its Côte-Rôtie wines being particularly renowned. They produce single-vineyard expressions such as ‘La Mouline’, ‘La Landonne’, and ‘La Turque’, which are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
