This domain was established in Côte de Nuits in 1919 by Jean-Louis Trapet and has been passed down through several generations, during which the Trapet family has gained a reputation for their commitment to producing high-quality wines.

Since 1995 the vines have been cultivated using biodynamic methods, and it’s been a certified Biodynamic Domain since 1996. The domain covers 15 hectares of vines divided into Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, 13.5 hectares of Pinot Noir and 1.5 hectares of Chardonnay. The vines are located on prestigious appellations such as Grand Crus Chambertin, Chapelle Chambertin, and Gevrey-Chambertin. They hand-harvest here, and produce around 65,000 bottles a year of red and white wines, using 100% Pinot Noir and 100% Chardonnay respectively.

The wines of Domaine Trapet Père et Fils are one of the most prestigious and renowned in the region of Côte de Nuits. Their most iconic bottle is the Chambertin Premier Cru Clos Prieur.
