In 1988, this domain was a 21-hectare vineyard in Meursault owned by Bernard Bonin. At this time, Bernard decided to split the domain into three for his three daughters, and later it would be his granddaughter Véronique who assumed ownership of her mother’s third, and began to make her own wines with her husband, Nicolas Bernard. Together they produced their first vintage in 1999 and today they’re known for producing Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault wines in a very unique style.
Their old vines are cultivated organically and biodynamically, and the domain has been certified as organic since 2015. No yeasts or enzymes are used for the growing of the vines. They harvest everything by hand, picking grapes earlier than usual to retain the acidity of their Chardonnay grapes.
The domain’s Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet are among the most sought-after white Burgundy wines on the market, and the prices are in the upper price range of white Burgundies. A Bernard-Bonin Meursault Vieilles Vignes will cost you around £450.
