Based in Meursault, Domaine Sylvain Dussort is a respected family estate known for producing elegant, terroir-driven white Burgundies that consistently offer exceptional value. Established over four generations, the domaine has been shaped by Sylvain Dussort’s meticulous approach to both vineyard and cellar, earning a loyal following among Burgundy enthusiasts for wines that combine richness, precision and a clear sense of place.
Today, the estate is entering an exciting new chapter, with Sylvain’s daughter increasingly taking on responsibility for the domaine, ensuring the family’s winemaking tradition continues into the next generation. While maintaining the estate’s classical philosophy, the transition brings fresh energy and a continued commitment to quality, sustainability and careful stewardship of the family’s vineyards.
The domaine farms around six hectares across some of the Côte de Beaune’s most prized appellations, including Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses and Beaune. Vineyard work is carried out sustainably, with low yields and hand harvesting preserving the quality and individuality of each parcel. In the cellar, fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, with new oak used sparingly to enhance texture without overshadowing the fruit or the character of the terroir.
The wines are unmistakably Meursault in style, offering layers of citrus, ripe orchard fruit and white flowers, complemented by subtle notes of toasted hazelnut, butter and gentle spice. Beneath the generosity lies vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral backbone, bringing freshness, balance and impressive ageing potential. Across the range, the emphasis is always on purity, elegance and expressing the unique identity of each vineyard.
Although Domaine Sylvain Dussort remains something of a hidden gem compared with some of Meursault’s better-known names, its reputation continues to grow among collectors and sommeliers seeking authentic, classically styled white Burgundy.
