Domaine Stéphane Magnien, an esteemed family estate based in Morey-Saint-Denis, has reached impressive new heights under the stewardship of fourth-generation winemaker Stéphane Magnien. Since taking charge in 2008, Stéphane has implemented a strict moratorium on chemical pesticides, fostering a remarkable sense of vitality, purity, and organic health throughout the vineyards.
His meticulous, non-interventionist cellar philosophy features a very subtle and limited use of new oak, allowing the native character of the fruit to take center stage while preserving the wine’s raw structural integrity.This terroir-first approach has captured the attention of the wine world, aligning widespread critical acclaim with the estate’s superb quality.
The domaine has recently earned extraordinary ratings from prominent critics like Neal Martin and William Kelley of the Wine Advocate, who praise the wines for their striking vivacity, poise, and freshness. Showcased beautifully by standout vintages like 2015, 2016, and 2017, the estate continues to solidify its reputation as one of Burgundy’s most exciting modern talents, capturing the true essence of Morey-Saint-Denis in bottles built for a bright future.
