Domaine Robert Sirugue, a historic estate in the legendary village of Vosne-Romanée, has entered an exciting new era under its fifth generation. Following the retirement of siblings Marie-France and Jean-Louis Sirugue, their nephew Arnaud Sirugue took full charge of the vineyards and winemaking, fully absorbing the family property into the expanded operation he shares with his wife, Sophie. Consequently, the 2022 vintage was the final year the wines were marketed under the traditional “Domaine Robert Sirugue” name. Moving forward, the combined estate wines are being released under the new, unified Arnaud et Sophie Sirugue-Noëllat label (also marketed under their Famille AS brand).
The domain spans nearly 12 hectares of sustainably farmed vines across the Côte de Nuits, prized for their exceptional terroir definition. The portfolio features prominent, highly fragmented parcels, including the old-vine plot of Vosne-Romanée “Les Barreaux”—perched just above the world-renowned Cros Parantoux—and a floral-driven Chambolle-Musigny “Les Mombies”. At the absolute pinnacle of their holdings sits an impossibly tiny, highly coveted 0.12-hectare slice of the legendary Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru. Under Arnaud’s precise stewardship, the winemaking philosophy prioritises complete destemming, thermo-controlled fermentation, and an aging regime of 12 to 15 months in fine French oak with minimal racking. This non-interventionist approach translates the unique terroirs into classic Burgundy elegance. The resulting wines are celebrated globally for their nuanced aromatics, structural finesse, and a pure expression of dark and red fruit that rewards patience in the cellar.
