Domaine du Clos Frantin, an 18th-century estate based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, represents the pinnacle of the Côte de Nuits portfolio owned by the historic, family-run Maison Albert Bichot. Acquired by the Bichot family in 1969, this prestigious 13-hectare domaine is dedicated almost entirely to the region’s finest vineyard classifications, boasting a highly coveted roll-call of Grand Cru and Premier Cru terroirs.
Driven by a commitment to sustainability under the leadership of Albéric Bichot, the domaine has been 100% certified organic since 2012, using meticulous vineyard management, low yields, and natural composts to maximize vine health and capture authentic soil expression. In the gravity-fed winery, technical director Matthieu Mangenot and long-time estate vinifier Cyrille Jacquelin champion a non-interventionist approach, gently handling the fruit and aging the wines for 16 to 18 months in fine French oak barrels.
The resulting portfolio features highly sought-after Grand Crus-including Richebourg, Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, and Echezeaux—alongside their iconic Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru “Les Malconsorts”. Celebrated for their precision, the wines offer a seamless balance of pure dark fruit, vibrant minerality, and silky tannins that prize elegant finesse over raw power.
